Saturday’s Delaware HS roundup: Cape Henlopen’s 40-game win streak is snapped

Saturday’s Delaware HS roundup:


Queen Anne’s County (MD) 11, Cape Henlopen 9

Gabby Antonelli posted 14 saves and Kallie German scored four goals as host Queen Anne’s County defeated Cape Henlopen, 11-9, to snap the Lady Vikings, 40-game win streak.

Mollie Stevens added three goals and , Ali Moulis had two and Taylor Blick and Anna O’Donnell each scored once for Queen Anne’s (13-0-1), which last year as the Maryland 3A-2A runner-up.

Anna Frederick led Cape Henlopen with three goals and an assist while Sara Young and Karalyn Joseph each scored twice. Riley Wagner, Allie Yeager and Jordan Brown had one each. Cape Henlopen outshot Queen Anne’s, 33-21.

Polytech 16, Concord 7

Four goals by Jamie Trabaudo, and three each by Morgan Cooke and Adelaide Stang paced the Lady Panthers of Polytech to a 16-7 win over the Lady Raiders of Concord. For the Lady Raiders, Madeline Davis led with three goals.

St. Andrews 19, Sanford School 4

Helen Cammerzill’s seven-goal performance along with three by Jen Oates, two by Margaret Whiteman and Sara Coyne paced the Lady Cardinals of St. Andrews to a 19-4 win over Sanford School.

Dover 12, St. Thomas More 7

Four goals by Graeleigh Lackey, three by Molly McCommons, and two by Alyssa Forrest paced the Senators of Dover High to a 12-7 win over the Lady Ravens of St.Thomas More. For the Lady Ravens, Maria McGloin, Lexi Petrosky and Anna Kelly had two goals each.

St. Elizabeth 5, Bethlehem Catholic 2

Sam Zingaro’s four-goal performance paced the St. Elizabeth Vikings to a 5-2 win over Bethlehem Catholic.

St. Mark’s 18, William Penn 2

Five goals by James Magnani, four by Derek Jackson, three by Morgan Madonna and two by Eryk Liskiewski paced the Spartans of St. Mark’s to an 18-2 win over William Penn.

Polytech 13, Delcastle 1

Three goals each by Ian Lineweaver and John O Brien, and two by Connor Slatcher and Alex Johnston paced the Panthers of Polytech to a 13-1 win over the Cougars of Delcastle.

Caesar Rodney 16, Middletown 5

Dave Schmidt’s six-goal performance along with two by Austin Hayward and Sean MacLeish paced the Riders of Caesar Rodney to a 16-5 win over the Cavaliers of Middletown. For the Cavs, Dylan Suarez led with two goals.

Hodgson 14, Conrad 0

Cory Melvin’s five-goal performance along with two each by Sebastian Scirrino and James Moxley paced the Silver Eagles of Hodgson to a 14-0 win over Conrad.
