The Eastern University men’s lacrosse team scored six straight goals to erase a three-goal deficit and top visiting Swarthmore, 13-7, Saturday. Sophomore attackman Grant Ferguson registered his second hat trick in as many games to lead the Eagles (2-0).

Matt Soldano and Chris Farrar each had two goals and an assist for Eastern while A.J. Ryan (Phoenixville) won 12 of 19 face-offs and scooped 10 groundballs.

Steve Selverian (Garnet Valley) had three goals and Ian Lukaszewicz dad two goals and an assist to pace the Garnet (0-1).

Salisbury 7, Widener 5

Johnny Casey (Abington) had two goals and an assist and Tim Taylor (Archbishop Ryan) added two goals for Widener (1-1) in the tight loss to at the defending national champs.

King’s 9, Neumann 6

Chris Scott (Marple Newtown) and Patrick Rose led the Knights (0-2) with two goals each and Andrew Neubauer (Cardinal O’Hara) made 13 saves.

Max Malloy (Abington) had a goal for Kings.

Hood 16, Rosemont 4

Justin Regan had two goals and two assist for Rosemont.

Cortland 16, Albright 4

Sophomore Philip Potter scored twice for Albright in the loss to the No. 2 team in Division III.

Dickinson 19, St. Mary’s 5

Matt Cherry (Radnor) had three assists and Tyler White (Penn Charter) scored once while Chris Pianko (Central Bucks West) scooped two groundballs for the winning Devils (2-0).

Scranton 9, Farmingdale 3

Ben Worthington (Archbishop Wood) made 14 saves in goal, John Gregitis (St. Joseph’s Prep) chipped in two goals and Matt Finor (Council Rock South) won 10 of 15 face-offs and had six ground balls to lead Scranton in its opener.

Shenandoah 11, Alvernia 6

Daniel Frantz (Lansdale Catholic) had two goals, an assist, five groundballs and four caused turnovers for Alvernia.

Roanoke 13, Kenyon 5

Tyler McWilliams (Downingtown West) had two goals for Roanoke (1-1) while freshman Jared Jacobs (Conestoga) won 14 of 20 face-offs and had seven groundballs for Kenyon.

Lynchburg 6, F&M 4

Campbell Armstrong (Great Valley) scored once and defenseman Jon Gill (Unionville) had two groundballs for Lynchburg.

Division II

Le Moyne 16, Chestnut Hill 3

Michael Melnychenko had a goal and an assist for the visiting Griffins in the loss to the No. 3 ranked team in Division II.
