University of Denver women’s lacrosse senior defender Kate Henrich (Germantown Academy) was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week.

Henrich tied the DU and MPSF single-game record with eight caused turnovers in a win against No. 10 Stanford, and followed up with six more caused turnovers in a victory over UC Davis. In the process, Henrich broke her own Denver and MPSF single-season records with 53 caused turnovers this season, and is on pace to lead the nation for the second-straight season with 3.79 per game, which is 0.88 ahead of Columbia’s Paige Cuscovitch.

This marks the third time this season that Henrich has been named MPSF Defensive Player of the Week.

Denver enjoys a week off before heading on their final regular season road trip for games against California (7-4, 4-0 MPSF) on Friday, April 19, and St. Mary’s (3-6, 1-3 MPSF) on Sunday, April 21.

Drexel’s Duffey is CAA Rookie of Week

Freshman Emily Duffey (Lenape) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association women’s lacrosse Co-Rookie of the Week along with Hofstra’s Becky Conto. This marks the first time Duffey has been recognized by the league and the third award for the Drexel women’s lacrosse team this season.

Duffey posted three goals and an assist helping Drexel improve to 2-0 in CAA play. On Friday night, the freshman midfielder broke the Dragons’ 8-8 tie against William and Mary in the second half allowing Drexel to regain its final lead of the game. Duffey tied her season-best with two goals in the 11-9 victory over the Tribe. She also tallied an assist and a ground ball. On Sunday, she netted a goal in the Dragons’ 8-4 win at Old Dominion. On the season, Duffey has recorded five goals and one assist for five points. She also totaled four draw controls.

Temple’s Clothier named Defensive Player of Week
