Philly team finishes a strong 3-2 at JCC Maccabi Games in Orange County, Calif.

A Philly team of eight area players and three from New York fared well last week at the JCC Maccabi Games in Orange County, Calif.

Team Philly finished 3-2 overall in the 7v7 format, after going 3-1 in pool play and falling to host Orange County, 10-7, in the playoffs. Philly had wins over Detroit, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and also fell to Long Island, 7-6

Tam Philly was coached by Villanova grad A.J. Ellis. The team featured:

The JCC Maccabi Games is an Olympic-style sporting competition held each summer in North America and is the second largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers in the world. Next year the event will be held we will be held in Cherry Hill. Tryouts will be next Spring, most likely in February or March. Details on tryouts will be announced in the winter
