From Press Release

Freshman Stephen Licata scored seven goals and Rosemont rebounded from a 5-4 deficit after the first quarter to outscore visiting Penn State – Abington by a 15-1 count the rest of the way to earn the program’s first victory, 19-6. The Raven’s overall record now stands at 1-2 while PSU-Abington is 0-3 overall.

Licata’s last goal of the first quarter, a shorthanded goal, was the first of 15 unanswered Ravens goals carrying the home side through the entire second and third quarters. PSU-Abington scored its final goal of the game with six minutes remaining and Rosemont freshman Brendan Dougherty would tally the Raven’s 19th and final goal of the day with 4:00 remaining.

In addition to Licata’s seven tallies, junior Will Lawlor (Radnor) and freshman Ralph Ibezim each scored two goals. In addition to his two goals Lawlor was credited with seven assists (9 points) for the game. Lawlor also filled the stat sheet by leading his team with nine ground balls.

Sophomore Austin Molocznik (Shawnee) was not far behind, credited with eight ground balls. Sophomore Justin Regan had six ground balls in addition to his team-leading three caused turnovers. He also had a goal and assist on the day.

Goalkeeper John Gonzalez (Franklin Towne Charter) played all sixty minutes in the crease, saving ten shots to earn his first career win. Sophomore Rob Nicoletti (Harriton) got the Ravens off to a good start from the center, winning 11 of 14 faceoffs.

Gwynedd Mercy 18, Mount St. Mary 7

Five goals each from Roy Bakeoven (Archbishop Ryan) and Dustan Mangin (Archbishop Wood) helped stake Gwynedd-Mercy to its first win on the season.

Ryley O’Keefe (Bishop Shanahan) needed four saves to earn his 14th career win, which is a program record in the short five-year history of the Griffin Men’s Lacrosse Team. The five goals from Bakeoven and Mangin were also a career-high for each.
