Philly men’s college roundup: Wolf, Conners, Dailey lead Duke; Poli stars in loss

Junior attackman Jordan Wolf (Lower Merion) scored four goals for the second straight day to lead sixth-ranked Duke University to a 21-9 victory over visiting Jacksonville University in men’s lacrosse action Sunday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, N.C.

The Blue Devils improve to 1-1 on the year while the Dolphins fall to 0-1. Duke got assists from 11 different players, while six players notched their first career goals as Blue Devils.

Long pole Brian Dailey (Conestoga) had a goal and three groundballs while defenseman Billy Conners (Malvern Prep) had three groundballs and an assist and Dan Wigrizer (Haverford School) earned the win in goal. Tanner Scott (Conestoga) also scored once.

Colgate 14, Bryant 13

Long pole Mason Poli (Downingtown East) had two goals, an assist, four groundballs and two caused turnovers for Bryant in the heartbreaking loss.

Keith Dreyer (Malvern Prep) had three assists and defenseman Alex Warden (Garnet Valley) chipped in with two groundballs and two caused turnovers to help Air Force (1-1).

(St. Joseph’s Prep) had an assist and three groundballs to lead High Point (1-2).

Rutgers 15, Manhattan 6

Rich Rambo (Abington) had an assist for Rutgers in its opener.
