This is one of a series of previews for the 2013 Philly lacrosse season

Wissahickon High School

Assistant Coach: Mary Stutman (2nd Year)

Last Year’s Record: 11-8 Overall, 10-3 League

Lauren Irvine, 10th, Midfield
Ashley Laskowitz, 10th, Defense

Others to watch:
Lindsay Andersen, 12th, Midfield
Marie Dickson, 9th, Attack
Shannon Stagliano, 9th, Attack

Strengths: Goal scoring ability from Frankenfield, Gomez, and Irvine. Goalie play from Silverman

Question Marks: Team Defense, Early season cohesiveness (given new coach)

“The goal of the team is to be competitive in every game. Win/Loss record is secondary to seeing steady progression in the quality of lacrosse being played. Gearing more for an extended playoff run than early season success. Laura Frankenfield has 200+ career goals; she is an extraordinary leader and I expect a very special season from her. Gomez and Irvine should blossom offensively, as will Silverman in Goal. Success of the season will depend on the role players and how quickly they develop as Varsity lacrosse players.”

Coach: Ken Rodoff, entering 14th season

Last Year’s Record: 7-3 overall (8-0 Bicentennial League Champions); 2nd round District One Playoff
