From Press Release
On Sunday February 24th the Philadelphia Wings will not only be taking on the Colorado Mammoth at the 4 PM at the Wells Fargo Center, they will also be putting on the gloves against blood cancer.
The Philadelphia Wings have had a longstanding partnership with the HEADstrong Foundation. In 2011, the team took the field wearing lime green jerseys which is the color associated with the HEADstrong Foundation and their national awareness platform supporting blood cancer. A post game jersey auction helped to raise over $17,000 to support their services.
This year the Wings will wear limited edition Lime Green gloves which will be auctioned off with proceeds supporting HEADstrong’s service mission. Supporters are encouraged to bid on their favorite players gloves.
Fans can Bid here; the glove auction will go live on February 24th and will run through March 3rd, 2013. Click here for tickets, enter promo code HEADSTRONG and $5.00 from each ticket sold will also benefit the HEADstrong Foundation.
For Wings players Kevin Buchanan and CJ Costabile, both who serve as HEADstrong’s player spokesmen this game means a lot more.
“HEADstrong Foundation is very near to our hearts. This organization is helping to change the game for so many families across the country whose lives have been turned upside down by blood cancer. As a team we are honored to represent Nick Colleluori on the field.” says Costabile and Buchanan, Philadelphia Wings
