The National Showcase, a joint effort between the Pattison Sports Group and The Haverford School’s John Nostrant, will be held Sunday at Germantown Academy.

The National Showcase will feature 200 of the top high school freshman and sophomore boys’ lacrosse players (classes of 2016 and 2017) in the country. Ten different states will be represented, including players from Texas, Louisiana and North Carolina.National Showcase

The unique format includes speed and agility testing, a teaching component from college coaches and showcase games all in front of premier college lacrosse programs. Committed college programs include Notre Dame, Loyola, Penn, Princeton, Drexel, Navy and more.

“We have secured top talent from across the country and the interest from college coaches has been impressive,” said John Nostrant, 2011 National High School Coach of the Year. “Our unique format allows these players to learn from college coaches as well as play in front of them. We are excited to put all this talent together and make them better players.”

It’s a recruiting event with a three-part day. The morning will start with half of the athletes running through the Parisi Speed School, getting tested and timed in the 40 yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump and 5-10-5 Shuttle Run. At the same time the other group will be in position specific groups for skills training on their specific positions that drills with a college coach teaching.

At 11:50 a.m. a College Recruiting Talk for players and parents will be held. Then at 12:20 p.m. athletes will be placed on teams (10) and each team will play three 45-minute games. The event ends at 4:50.

Players are coming from the following states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Delaware, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Virginia.

Less than 25 miles outside of Philadelphia, Germantown Academy boasts some of the most beautiful fields in the area, if not the region. Founded in 1759, GA has been providing robust, top-flight academic and athletic programs to its students for over 250 years. The outdoor facility is home to nine, exceptionally maintained athletic fields (3 multipurpose), four of which will be used to run the National Showcase.
