Kayla Mullen scored the game-winner to cap an impressive comeback as host Upper Dublin toppled rival Wissahickon, 9-7, Monday in Suburban One American Conference girls’ lacrosse.
The Trojans Had led, 7-4, but the Cards scored the game’s final five goals for their 61st straight league win.
The Flying Cardinals improved to 4-0 in the league (5-1 overall) while the Trojans are 2-1 in the league (3-1 overall).
“I knew this was going to be a tough game,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “I have a bunch of new players, and we were down 4-1 and then 5-2 and 7-4.
Cross credited the defense of Samantha Boyd Kayla McAneney in the second half as a key.
Julie Cross led the Cardinals with three goals and three assists while Taylor D’Ginto had two goals and three assists. Mullen and Rachel DiFrangia each had two goals.
Laura Frankenfield led the Trojans with three goals while Zoey Gomez added a pair.
Council Rock South 15, Abington 11
Leeann Hurley had six goals and three assists and Gabi Rosenfeld added three goals and one assist for the Golden Hawks (3-1, 1-0) in the Suburban One National.
Meredith Cox scored five goals to lead the Ghosts.
Pennridge 13, Cheltenham 12
Aerin McHugh had four goals and Taylor Dachowski scored the 100th of her career and chipped in with two for the winning Rams.
