Monday’s Delaware high school roundup:


Indian River 10, Sussex Central 8

To goals each by Jackson Jorss, Spencer Murray, Benjamin Gonski and Merrick Kovach paced the Indians of Indian River to a win over the Golden Knights of Sussex Central. For the Knights, Robert Cognetta led with three goals and Craig Rahn had two.

Delaware Military Academy 17, Pencader Charter 2

Four goals each by Matthew Higgins and Paul Wolfe, and three each by Nathaniel Gemmato and Hunter Coho paced the Seahawks of Delaware Military Academy.

Sussex Tech 13, North Caroline (MD) 11

Five goals by Ian Carlisle, three by Travis Quillen, and two each by Nathaniel Crum and teammate Dylan Baker paced the Ravens of Sussex Tech to a win over North Caroline of MD.

Appoquimink 16, Delcastle 1

Six goals by Seth Yauchuczak, and two each by Zachary Zaloga, Matt Frink and John Dunbar paced the Jaguars of Appoquimink to a win over the Cougars of Delcastle.

Conrad 6, Mckean 4

Three goals by Kyle Malick and tw by Logan Faux Dugan paced the Redskins of Conrad to a win over the Highlanders of McKean.

Newark 15, Glasgow 3

Seven goals by Joseph Lee, and two each by Mark Karpov and Nicholas Morjana paced the Yellowjackets of Newark to a win over the Dragons.

Hodgson 16, Mt. Pleasant 8

Five goals each by Sebastian Serrino and Cory Melvin, and four by James Moxley paced the Hodgson Silver Eagles to a win over the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant. For the Knights, Christian Thompson led with four goals and Ryan Irvin and Chris Mayville added two apiece.

Middletown 16, Concord 8

Three goals each by Joshua Lee, Joshua Gracie and Connor Swalm paced the Cavaliers over the Raiders. For the Raiders, two goals each by Richard Quinney and Ian Mikalajack led the attack.


St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (VA) 4, Salesianum 2

Ryan Kern made 13 saves in goal and Troy Reeder and Jay Kelly each scored once for the Sals in the loss to the VA power. Sean Giampietro had an assist and Zach Kelly, Chase Cowan, Spenser Urban and Freddy Freibott combined to play strong defense.

Girls Lacrosse

Middletown 19, Concord 9

Five goals by Kristen Rossi paced the Lady Cavaliers. For Concord, Casey Ridjik led with four goals.

Tower Hill 11, Charter 8

Four goals by Jenna Chodos, three by Meaghan Cobb, and two each by Alex DuPont and Sophia McCoy paced the Lady Hillers of Tower Hill to a win over the Lady Force. For Charter, Morgan Lamey led with four goals and Jordan Wood had a pair.

Newark 17, Glasgow 2

Three goals by Shawna Chopko, and two each by Isabella Sibbers, Kayla Wehry, Monica Debartomo and Allison Delaney paced the Lady Jackets.
