Cumberland Valley rising senior midfielder Rachel Harman has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at La Salle University.
Rachel Harman log:
High School: Cumberland Valley, PA
Graduation Year: 2014
College Choice: La Salle
Club Affiliation: Xtreme
Major lacrosse honors: All Conference 2nd Team 2012, Central Pa National Team 2012, All Conference 1st Team 2013
Academic honors: District Honor Roll, All Academic 2013
What will you major in/study? A major in the sciences
Why did you choose the school? “I know I’m interested in the sciences and La Salle is a great school to further my education in that field. I also feel that I will not only become a better player, but a better person from being apart of the La Salle Lacrosse Team. I plan to give it my all and contribute as much as I can to their program. I also love the other recruits from my class, which is extremely important considering I’ll be spending 4 years with them!”
What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “Our last season ended on a lose in District Semifinals, and we plan to get further next year. We have a stacked team coming up, and we will take advantage of that. I’ve been playing with those girls for a long time, and I can’t wait to see how that plays out on the field.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank my freshman high school and travel coach, Kirstin Schneider, who had faith me. She taught me how to win, how to handle losing, how to be a team player, and so much more. I would also like to thank (Xtreme coach) Mark Pinkerton, who was never shy to tell me what I was doing wrong or what i needed to work on to make myself a better player.”
