Philly players contributed to both the men’s and women’s Open Division champions Sunday at the 24th annual Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic.
In the men’s Open finals, Upper Dubin grad Scott Beury (Franklin & Marshall) joined with F&M teammate AJ Reichert to help Power-Tek – a team comprised of many former Colgate University players and a number of graduates from other Division I programs – outlast the Big Red Steelheads, 13-10, to win the squad’s second consecutive championship.
Meanwhile in the Women’s Open title game, sisters Amy and Kelly Cross (Upper Dublin/Syracuse) played for the HLA/X10 team that won the crown with a 14-5 victory over Liberty Lax. The Libverty Lax team featured the Cross’ teammate at Syracuse, defender, Kasey Mock (Pottstown).
