Infusing the core values of the HEADstrong Foundation, camp organizers Michael Colleluori and Brian Neary have created an amazing camp experience for lacrosse players looking to elevate their level of play. Pairing lacrosse instruction with life skills and service, the organization hopes to share HEADstrong Founder Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori’s vision of empowering athletes to make a difference in their communities.
“We encourage players to be part of this special camp experience this summer,” said Michael Colleluori, HEADstrong Vice President. “This is a chance for players to learn the game, further their skills level, expand upon their knowledge of the sport, while having fun and supporting the HEADstrong Foundation.
“Growing up playing lacrosse and attending camps with my brother Nick are some of my best childhood memories. We hope to provide an amazing and fun-filled learning environment helping to transition good athletes into great people.”
Players will learn the fundamental aspects of dodging, passing, catching, shooting, individual defense, goalie play and face-off technique. In addition, players will learn team skills such as team offense, team defense, riding, clearing and transition play.
HEADstrong Lacrosse Camps™ will provide a forum for collegiate athletes to share the most current knowledge of the game and will feature world-class instruction from former collegiate athletes, professional athletes, college coaches and blood cancer survivors who share their life experiences, triumphs and hurdles.
The goal of HEADstrong Lacrosse Camps is to assist in transitioning a player from good to great by providing qualified instruction with a 10:1 camper to counselor ratio. Players will learn fundamentals of individual, group and team lacrosse skills in a positive atmosphere.
The HEADstrong Lacrosse Club has been running elite high school boys club teams for the past 6 years. These club teams have given hundreds of players the ability to be recruited and compete at the Division I, II, and III level.
The HEADstrong Lacrosse Club has grown and adapted to a system of teaching players the fundamentals of the game instead of the idea that winning is everything. The experience of Camp and Club Directors, Mike Colleluori (Hofstra) and Brian Neary (Drexel) gives our camp the ability to teach your son to not only play at the highest level, but to play at the highest level the RIGHT way.
These fundamental teachings and values of the game of lacrosse are what has made us so successful not only in placing our athletes in college but giving them the ability to hit the ground running at the next level!
“Coach Colleluori and I could not be more excited about our brand new series of HEADstrong Lacrosse Camps this Summer,” said Brian Neary, Co-Director HEADstrong Lacrosse Camps. “In coaching and mentoring future Division 1 Lacrosse players at the High School level, we have found that the RIGHT fundamentals of the game need to be taught at the youth age group.
“In securing the three different camp sites in New Jersey, Delaware County, and New Castle, DE for this Summer, we will be able to reach a ton of flourishing lacrosse areas and help to grow the game in a positive way!”
