Girls’ youth lacrosse: BaggataGirls win title at inaugural Hawk Eye 5v5 Festival

The BaggataGirls claimed the title in the 1st Annual Hawk Eye 5v5 Lacrosse Festival, hosted by the St. Joseph’s University Women’s Lacrosse Team on Saturday.

The BaggataGirls, a group of mostly middle school players, won six of their eight matches while playing two other teams to a tie, including a squad comprised of incoming Lady Hawk recruits. The young challengers edged the Lady Hawk recruits to win the overall tournament based on total points.

The tournament assigned 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, and 0 for a loss.

Nine teams competed in the inaugural event, ranging from 8th graders to seniors in high school.

Playing for the BaggataGirls were: Olivia Duarte (Caravel Academy, DE), Scottie Rose Growney (TE Middle School), Julie Horning (Conestoga), Elisabeth Ingersoll (TE Middle School), Maddie Little (Valley Forge Middle School), Samantha McGee (Abington Junior High), and Liz Scott (TE Middle School). The team was coached by Jason McGee and Scott Growney.
