Friday’s Delaware HS boys’, girls’ roundup:
Salesinaum School 17, Tower Hill 5
The Sals improved to 11-2 with an easy win over the Hillers (11-2) in a battle of the top-rated teams in the state – which have met in the state finals the past four years.
Sam Fink had five goals and an assist and Jason Kelly had five goals while Troy Reeder had three goals and one assist. Craig Zebrowski added a goal and three assists and Sean Giampietro had a goal and an assist while Christian Baldi and Thomas Marconi each scored once and Bailey Martin dished five assists. Ryan Kern made eight stops in goal.
Andrew Pettit had four goals for the Hillers, including his 50th of the season.
Archmere 10, Delaware Military Academy 8
Chris Corsi’s 3 goal performance along with 2 each by Dan Ehrlichman, Ryan Beatson and Colin Duffy paced the Auks of Archmere to a 10-8 win over the Seahawks of Delaware Military Academy. For DMA, Matt Higgins had 3, and Nathan Gemmato and Paul Wolfe 2 each.
St. Thomas More 3, Caravel Academy 2, OT
St. Thomas More senior defenseman Matt Conlin scored the winning goal with one second remaining in the first overtime period to pace the Ravens to a 3-2 overtime win over Caravel.
St. Elizabeth 5, Pencader Charter 1
Chris Truitt and Thomas Van Gorder 2 goals each paced the Vikings of St. Elizabeth as they defeated Pencader Charter 5-1
Cape Henlopen 17, Sussex Tech 3
Todd Keen’s 5 goal performance along with 4 by John Benson, 2 each by Blake Mann and Michael Hopkins paced the Vikings of Cape Henlopen to a 17-3 win over the Ravens of Sussex Tech. For the Ravens of Sussex Tech, Dylan Baker led with 2 goals.
Wilmington Friends 14, Tatnall 12
3 goals by Meryl Gatti and Brooke Winfield, and 2 each by Sophie Mester, Molly Harper and Lucy Yeatman paced the Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends to a 14-12 win over the Lady Hornets of Tatnall 14-12. For the Lady Hornets, Shay Cannon and Jennifer Davis each led with 4 goals and 3 by Margaret Crivelli.
Archmere 17, Caesar Rodney 6
Alyssa Saivitti’s 6 goal performance along with 4 each by Katelyn Payne and Charlotte Rath paced the Lady Auks of Archmere to a 17-6 win over the Lady Riders of Caesar Rodney. For the Lady Riders of Caesar Rodney, Jenna Rigby led with 3 goals followed by Megan Card with 2.
