Philadelphia Freedom 2015 wins Summer Slam Junior A division

The Philadelphia Freedom 2015 team was crowned Co-Champions of the Summer Slam Junior A Division on Sunday in Mount Holly, NJ.

Philadelphia Freedom shared the 2015 title at Summer S;lam

Tied at 3-3 with 15 minutes left in the 2nd half, storms rolled through halting the game. Freedom and a tough Maryland Lacrosse Showcase 2015 were declared co-champions.

Freedom featured a stingy and lean defense, a relentless group of midfielders and four attackman that were tenacious in riding their opponents. All contributed to successful weekend and an overall record of 6-1.

Leading the efforts all weekend were goalie Carson White (Downingtown West) along with Jimmy Fratoni (OJ Roberts HS) and Luke Nowlan (Bishop Shanahan), both at the face-off X.

Freedom 2015 is based out of Chester Springs and is represented with players from 10 areas high schools: Bishop Shanahan, D-Town East, D-Town West, OJ Roberts, Coatesville, Malvern Prep, Boyertown, Lampeter-Strasburg, Wyomissing and Henderson.

Playing for Freedom 2015 included the following:

Defense: Frank Bevivino (Malvern Prep), Brent Jacobs (WC Henderson), Ryan Hassing (D-Town EAST), Eric Antich (OJ Roberts), and Jack Wertz (Wyomissing)

Midfielders: Mike Risser (D-Town EAST), Alex Beitel (OJ Roberts), Jamie Redmond (Coatesville), Luke Nowlan (Bishop Shanahan), Dylan Rittenhouse (D-Town EAST), Sam Weintraub (D-Town WEST), Ryan Johns (Bishop Shanahan), Brendan Tousiant (Bishop Shanahan), Mat Devathala (OJ Roberts), Jimmy Fratoni (OJ Roberts)

Attack: Chris Fabry (D-Town WEST). Chris Kent (OJ Roberts HS), Brock Johnson (Boyertown), and Nate Patterson (Lampeter-Strasburg)

Goalies: Eric Beren (WC Henderson), Carson White (D-Town WEST)

Coaches: Eric Swartz and Matt Marascio
