The Chester County Youth Lacrosse Association presents a free coaches clinic – covering principals specifically designed for teaching youth lacrosse – at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA.
The clinic will take place from 5-7pm on Saturday, February 16. United Sports has generously offered to provide free food and drinks for all attending coaches.
The two main speakers will be Andy Hayes and Steve Holmes. Hayes, the head boys lacrosse coach at Episcopal Academy, will give his talk: Lacrosse 3.0: Drills to Play Fast and Develop Offensive I.Q., aided by youth players demonstrating his drills. Hayes gave a similar lecture earlier this month on the live demo field at the U.S Lacrosse Convention. In his talk Hayes will present core drills that can be used to encourage fast play for youth players.
Holmes, a defenseman for the Philadelphia Wings and the assistant coach at Malvern Prep, will speak on defensive concepts, and will give his talk entitled Recovery Defense.
Both Hayes and Holmes will take any and all questions from coaches in attendance.
All youth coaches in the area are welcome to attend. In order to help United Sports plan food and beverage requirements, please RSVP to Dylan Brown at United Sports (DBrown@unitedsports.net; 610.212.4132) if you plan on attending.
