The Bucks Select Lacrosse 2020 team won the recent Sweet Laxin’ 2013 5th Grade Championship.
Bucks Select defeated Long Island Outlaws Silver (Huntington Station, NY) 11-0, Team Twist (Bucks County, PA) 11-6, and Green Livin’ Lax (Livingston, NJ) 4-1 (Rain) in pool play on Saturday, advancing to Sunday’s playoff bracket as the No. 1 seed. On Sunday, Select defeated Looney’s (Bel Air, MD) in the semifinal (10-6) before facing the 2nd seeded Long Island Outlaws Black (Huntington Station, NY) team in the finals.
Bucks Select 2020 (Gray) is 11-3 this summer winning the Sweet Laxin’ Championship, a final four berth at the Meltdown Tournament (Abington) and a 2nd seeded division finish in Lehigh Laxfest. Select finishes its summer schedule in two weeks at the Patriot Games in Bucks County.
The team consists of Evan Bullotta, Matt Melendez, Conor Tait, Ben Yerkes, Danny Mallee, Matt Hemphill, Ben Shelly (2nd Row) Coach Dan Gray, Colin Abbonizio, Duncan Hill, Peter Santaceclia, Max Dunar, Ryan Gray, Nick Olear, Dylan Mollick, Sam Graham, Hank McDonough and Coach John Graham. The 2020 team includes players from the Central Bucks, Council Rock, and Warrington Lacrosse Clubs. Bucks Select went 5-0 over the two-day tournament and dominated the Long Island Outlaws Black in the final, 11-1.
