The public is invited to attend a fundraiser Monday from 5-to-11 p.m. at P.J. Whelihan’s in Blue Bell where 15 percent of the bill will go to the Uganda National Lacrosse Team as it gears to compete in the World Championships this summer in Denver as part of the DREAM 2014 Campaign.
The event is being organized by 2012 Hatboro-Horsham graduate and All-Phillylacrosse.com pick Cortnee Daley, a sophomore player at Louisville. Daley is interning with Field of Growth, an International organization that supports lacrosse programs and positive social impact in developing countries.
The money raised will help Uganda fund its trip to Denver where it plans to compete in its first FIL tourney with 47 other countries.
“The Dream 2014 campaign is about uniting the lacrosse community to uplift Team Uganda and support our 260 orphaned and impoverished children at the Hopeful School,” said Daley. “It can change lives of our players and children while making lacrosse history in the process.
“This fundraiser may not be huge but every donation counts. The Uganda lacrosse team having the opportunity to play in Denver this summer, something they never imagined possible.”
