The Showcase Lacrosse division of NXTsports has become a national leader in lacrosse recruiting events extending well beyond the company’s Philadelphia roots.
To enhance the Showcase experience, NXTsports has launched a new website, seen at ShowcaseLacrosse.com, designed to bring the participant experience to life.
NXTsports incorporated large photography and organized content presentation, which allows users to explore the deep layers of each event. All event registration and application processes have been streamlined, and content is easy to find and dynamically displayed as NXTsports attempted to give visitors a sense for the elite competition at elite venues that Showcase Lacrosse events feature.
The Showcase Lacrosse landing page lists the 2013 events, which include last weekend’s Girls’ Philly Showcase and Can-Am Showcase (Detroit, MI) and the highly-popular Philly Showcase events (Nov. 16-17 & 22-23). Within each event page users can access an event summary, related education & exposure initiatives, and visual sequence of experience highlights. The visitor may also easily access pertinent documents such as schedules, player lists, rosters, field maps and participating teams.
Most notable, user may explore a rich archival of media unofficially titled ‘the drawer’. The drawer includes participant head shots, NXT Game Center live scoring, photos, videos and more. All content is fully responsive and adaptable to its viewing device (mobile, table, desktop, etc.).
The site was developed by Colin Ambler, NXT’s Chief Technology Officer and Brett Manney, Director of Showcase Lacrosse.
“The site really catches the eye. It’s a lot easier to navigate and is much richer with the content that people want and need.” said Manney.
The Philly Showcase has grown into the premier recruiting event in the nation in its five years. The event now covers five days and brings hundreds of college coaches. The kickoff event, the Philly Charity Showdown, will be held at Citizens Bank Park, the legendary home of the Philadelphia Phillies.
“As word has grown and now with more events in our lineup, we have made great relationships with a lot of club programs. We not only attract the best kids from Philadelphia, but the best kids in the country,” said Manney. “We also have a whole education component to our events that include skills clinics, recruiting seminars and prominent coaches overseeing each team.”
Manney noted that NXTsports covers all areas of lacrosse – training, tournaments, recruiting, club programs and player development on a national level. NXTsports also runs educational programs through Cradle Lacrosse and Trashcan Lacrosse and tournaments through NXTevents.
“Some people think we run clubs, others think just events,” he said. “We are a sports and education management company with some very hard-working people trying to execute innovative ideas.”
“Whether you are a young player in Cradle Lacrosse or you are a parent of a kid trying to get recruited, we strive to put on high quality programs that exceed expectations.”
