From Press Release

Seniors Graham Horvath and Ahmad Zachary (Lower Merion) and juniors Andrew Buckanavage and Andrew Muscara were selected by their teammates as Vermont men’s lacrosse team captains for the 2014 season. Head coach Ryan Curtis made the announcement today.

“I am pleased to announce the selection of Andrew, Graham, Andrew and Ahmad as our captains this year. These four bring a diverse background to their roles as leaders in both personality and experience.

“Their different perspectives will allow them to relate to all of their teammates. They have clearly earned the respect of their teammates both on and off the field, ” commented Curtis.

Zachary finished third on Vermont in both ground balls (35) and caused turnovers (10) a season ago, while also chipping in five points on two goals and three assists. Through his first three seasons with the Catamounts, Zachary has played in 41 out of a possible 43 games.

The Catamounts finished last season at 4-10 overall and 1-4 in America East play. Horvath (34 pts), junior Tim Yager (14 pts) and sophomore Patrick Clark (14 pts) are the top three returning scorers for UVM. Sophomore Justin Rosenberg returns in goal after earning an America East All-Rookie Team selection last season.
