Philly girls lead Georgetown 2014 squad to title at King of the Hilltop

Georgetown 2014, a team consisting of three Philly girls from Ultimate Lacrosse and several Georgetown senior commits, won the championship Sunday at the King of the Hilltop 4×4 at the Georgetown University MultiSport Field.

EORGETOWN KING OF THE HILLTOP COMPETITORS – Left to Right Back Row- Melina Avery (Harriton, PA), Elizabeth Jacobs (Princeton, NJ), Kristen Ierna (Miller Place, NY), Caroline Drusano (Notre Dame Prep, MD), Rachel Rausa (Hatboro-Horsham, PA), Natalie Bulgier (Souderton, PA), Amanda Ignacio (Mount De Sales, MD), Morgan Ryan (Oak Knoll, NJ), Taylor Gebhardt (C.W. Baker, NY); Front Row- Mariah Matheis (Darien,CT), Rachael Alberti (The Taft School, NJ). Avery, Jacobs, Drusano, Rausa and Ignacio played on the title winning team.

The winning team consisted of Georgetown commits Rachel Rausa (Hatboro-Horsham/Ultimate, PA), Georgia Tunney (Notre Dame Prep, Md.), Caroline Drusano (Notre Dame Prep), and Mandy Ignacio (Mount De Sales), and as well as Melina Woon Avery (Harriton, Pa./Syracuse), and Elizabeth Jacobs (Princeton High, N.J./Dartmouth).

Georgetown 2014 defeated BBL (N.J.) to claim the title. The 21-team field also included such powers as Ultimate New Jersey, M&D Black, Illinois Elite, Maryland United, and Long Island Liberty.

It was a fast paced day of lacrosse with 7 minute, short field, single goal games
