Xander Pacilio

High School: Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Goalie

College Choice: Ohio Wesleyan University

Club Affiliations: Bucks Select; Maryland Showcase (Team Maryland)

Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: 2x Bucks County team for Keystone State Games; Southern States Elite All-Star; Philly Under Armour Top 80; Summer Slam 2014 AA All-Star; ECLC All-Star; NXT Invitational All-Star; Hotbeds All-Star

What will you major in/study? History; Secondary Education

Why did you choose OWU? “I chose OWU for many reasons, one being the small school atmosphere that I experienced during my tour and time I spent with the team. OWU also has an excellent academic reputation with its Education major and Honors program, along with a winning tradition with all of its sports. Coach (Mike) Plantholt has the team going in the right direction, and his coaching style and the talent he brings in, I believe, is unmatched and will allow the team to make it to Championship weekend.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “This past season was the best we had in our school’s history. We really showed that we belonged in the Inter-Ac. Even though we had some very important players graduate, we still return a lot of talent and are bringing in some new talent as well. We really hope to make an even bigger impression on Philly next season.”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my High School Coach Mike DelGrande for really helping me with the recruiting process, and helping me become the player I am today, with the help from Coaches Jay Pearcy, Vaughn Smith, Sean Fitzpatrick, EG Rall, Harry Kleintz and of course Eric Luhrmann.

“I’d also like to thank my Bucks Select coaches, Mike McGowan, Matt Coverdale, Bruce Garcia and Trip Fisher. Also a thank you goes to the coaches at MD Showcase team Coaches Jeremy Mattoon, Will Lane and Coach Andrew, and my freshman year High School coaches at C.B. South, Dan Gray, Mike Strayline and Bill Hack. I’d also like to thank the Warrington Warriors youth lacrosse organization and my 6th and 8th grade coaches Jim Drake and Kevin Witchey. Also to Coach Mike Sharman for helping with the Keystone Games.”

“My teammates throughout the years, especially at Springisde CHA and Bucks Select, deserve a big thank you for their support and ability to push me to be better while doing the same for themselves.

“Christopher Nice for keeping my Bucks Select team hydrated throughout my four years with the team.

“Lastly, my parents for being super supportive through my lacrosse career and giving me the opportunities that have been presented to me.”

Other schools considered: Bowdoin, Dartmouth, F&M, Salisbury, St. Mary’s of MD, VMI, Washington College
