From Press Release
Fusion is run by professional players Steve Holmes and Kevin Crowley – a Canadian-born player recently named the MLL’s Player of the Year – and features club teams for the Classes of 2017 and 2018.
The tryouts will be held on Oct. 6 and Oct. 13 at Malvern Prep. The tryouts will run from 2-4 p.m. each day for players in the Class of 2018 and from 4-6 p.m. for players in the Class of 2017. Players are expected but not required to attend both tryouts. The cost is $35 for pre-registration, $45 for walk-ups (all receive Fusion pinney).

The travel teams will be coached by Holmes, Crowley and fellow Philadelphia Wing Eric Hoffman and compete in major outdoor and indoor tournaments.
“We want to be known as the organization that accelerates the learning curve the most,” said Holmes. “At our heart we are a training enterprise, and we want our travel teams to reflect that core.”
Fusion’s program requires a full year commitment from each player. Most college coaches recommend youth and high school players to play box lacrosse to improve their overall skills and IQ.
“The winter is crucial to our development by using box lacrosse as a training tool, and we’ll be competing in box tournaments,” said Crowley. “The summer is no different, but we will hit the road and compete in our outdoor tournament line-up.”
So what does this look like for a player who has made a Fusion travel team?
“We practice indoors, we practice outdoors, and we’ll work you hard so we can become the best team and group of players possible,” said Holmes.
Fusion also incorporates training camps as a major component of its team training.
“With all the different schedules, driving, and conflicts, we see it best to bring everyone together for 3-4 hours at a time as much as possible,” said Holmes. “These training camps create team bonding and really; you don’t have any choice but to get better and have fun.”
Fusion will incorporate film sessions, guest instructors from the Wings and MLL, and team dinners to round out the exciting platform they’ve created.
