Mesa Fresh Lacrosse has changed the time and location of its 2018 and 2019 evaluations. They will be held on Sunday September 8th at Kelly Field in West Chester.
The 2019 evaluations will be held from 5-7 p.m. and the 2018 evaluations will be held from 7-9 p.m. Mesa Fresh is a nationally recognized elite lacrosse club that traditionally features many of the region’s best lacrosse players.
Following the evaluation sessions, Mesa Fresh will begin selecting top caliber players for its 2018 and 2019 teams. Each team anticipates playing in two or three tournaments in the summer of 2014 against other very competitive club teams from across the country.
Players will be selected based on their demonstrated mastery of fundamental skills, lacrosse IQ, game performance, character and contributions to their youth teams. All players attending the evaluations must have a recommendation from their youth coach or coaches.
Paul O’Grady and Scott Gabrielsen will be the Mesa Fresh 2018 coaches. Pat Carney will be the Mesa Fresh 2019 coach.
O’Grady is a former Philadelphia Wing and has had much success in the coaching ranks having coached at Episcopal Academy, Malvern Prep and the last seven years at The Haverford School where he led the defense and helped the team to a 29-0 record and a National Championship in 2011.
Gabrielsen will partner with his former Wings teammate to round out the Mesa Fresh 2018 Coaching Staff. Gabrielsen’s recent coaching success has been leading West Chester Youth Lacrosse where he helped guide the 2012 West Chester U13 A team to CCLA Championship and most recently the West Chester U15 A team to the 2013 CCLA Championship.
Carney, another former Wing and recent inductee into the PA Lacrosse Hall of Fame, has been coaching area youth, high school and college lacrosse for the past 20+ years and spent the past five years coaching the very successful Mesa Fresh 2014 team.
