The new HEADstrong North program is launching with two teams targeting athletes from Bucks and Montgomery counties.
The open tryouts for U13 and U15 teams will be held Sunday, September 8, at La Salle College High School at 8605 West Cheltenham Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA 19038. Players in Grades 5 through 8 are encouraged to try out for teams that will compete in the 2014 summer season.
The teams will be spearheaded by Coach Bill Leahy and Coach Tony Resch, both of La Salle College High School. Additionally, former La Salle and Drexel alumnus Brian Neary who currently serves as the General Manager for the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club of Pennsylvania, will be a primary point of contact for the HEADstrong North teams.

HEADstrong’s hope is to positively engage players, providing them with an opportunity that goes far beyond developmental lacrosse skills. HEADstrong has assembled a nationally renowned core of dedicated coaches that will provide the highest level of instruction complemented by service and life skills in effort build a confident and well-rounded student athlete prepared for the next level.
A $40.00 donation will apply per player and is due at the tryout. All major credit cards will be accepted as well as checks made out to the HEADstrong Lacrosse Club.
Team HEADstrong North™ is committed to developing the highest caliber athletes while teaching players the importance of sportsmanship, character and giving back to the community and to the game. An emphasis will be placed on making a difference in the local blood cancer community through service and generating of funds to support the HEADstrong Foundation’s service mission.
Team HEADstrong North™ will promote blood cancer awareness on the field wearing HEADstrong’s signature lime green helmets, gloves and uniforms. Lime Green is the National awareness color for non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, the disease that affected Founder Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori. The highly competitive teams will compete both locally and nationally in tournaments.
