The structure of the NXT Cup as strictly an 8th grade and younger youth tournament allowed all participating teams access to elite facilities.

Said Robin Baxter, Director of NXTevents, “Our goal at the NXT Cup is to grow the event into one of the best and most competitive youth lacrosse tournaments in the country. Unlike events that feature both youth and high school divisions and often place the youth teams on the worst fields, we focus only on youth divisions in order to provide all participants with an elite experience. We are very excited with how the inaugural NXT Cup went and can’t wait for next year!”

The tournament featured highly competitive games, ties and one-goal nailbiters were commonplace throughout pool play and the playoffs. At the end of the weekend a mix of local and national programs braved the heat to take home NXT Cups. In another demonstration of the depth of talent at the event, 10 different programs took home trophies.
