Chester County U13 wins PLA All-Star Challenge title

The Chester County U13 All Star team defeated the SEPYLA North All Stars in the championship game of the 2nd annual Philadelphia Lacrosse Association (PLA) All-Star Challenge at West Chester’s Kelly Field on Sunday.

Chester County swept all four games on the day, culminating with a 10-7 win over SEPYLA North in the final. Chester County opened the day with a convincing win over the Lehigh Valley All Stars. Next, it beat the SEPYLA North All Stars in OT as Jack Traynor scored the game-winner. The third game was another competitive game against SEPLYA South which CCLA came out on top.

Chester County’s attack had a strong day led by attackmen Jake Smith, Ethan Bertolami, Cooper Urban, Milo Navarro, and Jack Traynor; and midfielders Scooter Whiteside, Tate Kienzle, Cameron Battisti, Dalton Pascale, Jack Mulchay, Charlie Veasey, Ethan Rodgers, Connor Devine, and Joe Saulino.

The defense had a very strong day keeping all teams below double digits, led by Charlie Cordisco, Sam Sweeney, Patrick Iannini, Will Costa, Harrison Naughton and David Scott. The goalies, Will Pettit and Connor Reed, made some outstanding saves and great clears. The team was coached by Kevin Goforth and Barry Smith.
