Youth lacrosse: Chester County U15 wins PLA All-Star Challenge

The Chester County U15 All Star team defeated the SEPYLA South All Stars in the championship game of the 2nd annual Philadelphia Lacrosse Association (PLA) All-Star Challenge at West Chester’s Kelly Field on Saturday.

Chester County swept all three games on the day, culminating with a 9-6 win over SEPYLA South in the final. Chester County opened the day with a convincing 8-3 win over the Lehigh Valley All Stars. Next, it beat the SEPYLA North All Stars, 5-4, in OT as Matt Moore dodged from X and scored the game-winner.

Chester County’s offense was led by Brett Baskin and Matt Moore, both with 4 goals and 2 assists, Michael Fay had 3 goals and 3 assists and was dominant on face-offs while Henry Berg had 1 goal and 5 assists, Scottie White 2 goals and 3 assists, CJ McNally 3 goals, and Denny Nealon 1 goal and 2 assists. Jacob Buttermore, Conner Mosebrook and Doug Jones each had 1 goal. Colin Miller and Parker Henderer each had some outstanding saves in net for Chester County and combined for 25 saves on the day behind a strong defensive unit.

The team was coached by Bob Miller, Denny Nealon and Glenn White.
