YSC is proud to announce it will be hosting the fourth installment of John Nostrant’s Summer Lacrosse Camps from July 21st – 24th.
A winner of Main Line Lacrosse Camp of the Year award, Nostrant’s camps focus on developing the fundamentals for players of all ages along side of YSC’s state-of-the art ADT (Athletic Development Training) and mental skills training (sport psychology) with YSC’s world-class staff.
The camp is structured for kindergarten through rising eighth graders, and features instruction from the best high school and college players in the area. The camp stresses both individual and team concepts while creating a fun and competitive atmosphere.
The ADT training will help to develop each athlete’s agility, balance, and coordination – the foundational athletic skills. The Sports Psychology sessions will teach athletes how best to develop their mental skills, and will focus on control and maximizing performance. In addition to his previous three camps that will be held at Eastern University and the Haverford School, three former Haverford School standouts will run his fourth camp at YSC.
Kyle Wharton graduated from Johns Hopkins in 2011 where he was a three year starter, team captain and leading goal scorer his senior year. He also earned honorable mention All-American honors as an attackman in 2009. Coach Wharton was a two-time high school All-American at The Haverford School where he won 4 Inter-Ac titles and a state championship in 2005.
Will Scudder is a 2007 graduate of The Haverford School where he won 4 Inter-Ac championships and a state title. He garnered all league and all state laurels as well as serving as team captain in 2007. He continued his lacrosse career at Lehigh University where he became a four-year letter winner, two-year starter, All-Patriot League in 2010, and team captain in 2011.
Mike Rufo graduated from The Haverford School in 2008 where he played midfield and won two Inter-Ac titles. Coach Rufo continued his career at the University of Scranton and served as co-captain in 2012. He finished his college career with 100 points and is currently an assistant coach at Harriton High School.
Coach Nostrant’s camp is not only a great building block for lacrosse novices, but allows experienced players to hone their skills and learn from the best. The YSC Facility is a 90,000 sq. ft. indoor and outdoor athletic facility offering multiple state of the art synthetic Sprinturf fields, an ADT high performance fitness center and other first-class amenities to create the ultimate lacrosse training complex located on County Line Road in Wayne, PA.
The camp will run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM – Monday thru Thursday. Campers need to bring a lunch and something to drink. Cost of the camp is $400.00 which includes the ADT and Sports Psychology training.
