Thursday’s District 1 girls’ roundup: Boyertown edges Henderson; Harriton, Great Valley roll

Alex O’Herrick had three goals and an assist and Rachel Engler scored three goals as host Boyertown defeated Henderson, 12-11, Thursday in the second round of the District 1 girls’ lacrosse tournament.

The seventh-seeded Bears (19-2) advance to the quarterfinals Saturday vs. second-seeded Great Valley at West Chester East (2:15 p.m.).

Haley Wentzel added two goals and Kait Dehaven added a goal and two assists for Bouertown.

Katie O’Donnell poured in seven goals and had one assist for Henderson.

Harriton 19, Merion Mercy 5

Caleigh Foust collected four goals, three assists and two draw controls while Sabrina Tabasso had four goals, two assists and six draw controls to help the Rams cruise.

Ro Hurley led Merion Mercy with two goals.

Conestoga 15, Mount St. Joseph 6

Meghan McGillis collected five goals and an assist and Catie Smith had three goals and one assist to lead the Pioneers.

Olivia Gannon and Abby Aita led the Mount with two goals each.

Great Valley 17, Upper Dublin 2

Brittany Edwards scored five goals and Emily Scullin had four goals and two assists while Kim Hooven added four goals and one assist to lead the Patriots.

Julie Cross led the Cards with two goals.

Garnet Valley 16, Hatboro-Horsham 5

Ashley Pyle had four goals and three assists, Haley Warden added two goals and three asssts and Paige Mitros made 12 saves to pace the No. 9 Jaguars over the No. 8 Hatters.

Strath Haven 14, Kennett 4

Kirsten Wilhelmsen collected four goals and two assists and Morgan Glassford added four goals to lead the Panthers to the easy win.

Radnor 17, Spring-Ford 0

Sara Curley had four goals and four assists while Shannon Quinn collected four goals and an assist to lead the Red Raiders to the shutout.

Springfield-Delco 16, Pennsbury 4

Emily Santana collected six goals and an assist for the Cougars.

Alyssa Matthews led Pennsbury with two goals.
