Delaware HS boys’, girls’ playoff roundup: Pettit scores 60th to lead Tower Hill; St. Mark’s rolls

Andrew Pettit scored three goals and hit the 60 mark for the season while Benjamin Manning also tallied three to pace the Hillers of Tower Hill to a 9-4 win over Smyrna Tuesday in the opening round of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys State High School Lacrosse Tournament.

St. Mark’s 15, Appoquinimink 5

Five goals by James Magnani, four by Michael Walsh, and two each by Morgan Madonna and Derek Jackson paced the Spartans of St. Mark’s to a 15-5 win over the Jaguars of Appoquinimink. For the Jaguars, Eric Mack and John Dunbar each contributed two goals.

Cape Henlopen 19, Charter 2

Four goals by Todd Keen, three by Justin Lopez, and two each by Michael Hopkins and Blake Mann paced the Vikings of Cape Henlopen to a 19-2 win over the Force of Charter.

Salesianum School 17, Concord 0

The top-seeded Sals coasted to the shutout win.

Girls

Polytech 11, Sussex Tech 9

The Lady Panthers of Polytech rallied as senior Jenna Hayes scored four goals, including her 100th of her career. Addie Stang added three goals and Jorden Dennis had two. Dorian Zimmerman had put Sussex Tech ahead late with two goals and Kellen Cannon led the Lady Ravens with five tallies.

Charter 12, Ursuline 11

Lexie Mash had the game-winner and scored five goals and goals each by Morgan Lamey and Emily Ritter paced the Lady Force of Charter School to a 12-11 win over the Lady Raiders of Ursuline. Mary Abram led with six goals for the Lady Raiders.

Tower Hill 18, Wilmington Friends 8

Four goals by Kiva Walsh, three each by Jenna Chodos and Sophia McCoy, and two each by Meaghan Cobb and Emma Lynch paced the Lady Hillers of Tower Hill to a 18-8 win over the Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends. For the Lady Quakers, Meryl Gatti led with three goals, and Margo Tschantz contributed two.

Glasgow 13, Christiana 5
