Phillylacrosse.com Girls’ Rankings: District 1 tourney starts on Tuesday

A wild finish in the Central League resulted in four teams tying for the league crown. The league garnered four of the top five seeds and six of the tip nine in the District One tournament, which opens Tuesday.Phillylacrosse.com Girls' Rankings logo

The rankings:

1. Moorestown (17-0) Prev: No. 1 – The Quakers finished a key three-game stretch in which they defeated No. 4 Strath Haven, No. 13 Shawnee and No. 6 Conestoga.

2. Radnor (13-3) Prev No. 3 – The Red Raiders are seeded No. 1 in the District 1 tourney and host Upper Merion in the first round Tuesday.

3. Springfield-Delco (15-3) Prev: No. 4 – The third-seeded Cougars host Council Rock South.

4. Strath Haven (14-3) Prev: No. 6 – The fourth-seeded Panthers host Springfield-Montco.

5. Harriton (16-2) Prev: No. 2 – The fifth-seeded Rams host Central Bucks East.

6. Conestoga (14-4) Prev: No. 5 - The sixth-seeded Pioneers host Lower Merion.

7. Garnet Valley (14-4) Prev: No. 7 - The ninth-seeded Jags, winners of nine in a row, host

8. Great Valley (16-2) Prev: No. 8 – The second-seeded Patriots host Jenkintown

9. Archbishop Carroll (13-5) Prev: No. 10 – The Patriots are a heavy favorite to win their 13th straight Catholic league title.

10. Episcopal Academy (11-4) Prev: No. 12 – EA has clinched its ninth straight Inter-Ac League championship.

11. Cape Henlopen (13-1) Prev: No. 11 – The Vikings bounced back nicely from their first loss in over two years with impressive victories over Caesar Rodney (22-5) and Tower Hill (13-5).

12. Boyertown (18-2) Prev: No. 13 – The seventh-seeded Bears, host Unionville.

13. Shawnee (12-2) Prev: No. 9 - The Renegades had a tough week, falling to No. 1 Moorestown and Eastern.

14. Hatboro-Horsham (15-2) Prev: No. 14 – The eighth-seeded Hatters host Villa Maria Academy.

15. Friends’ Central (14-2) Prev: NR – The Phoenix have won 10 straight games and are seeded No. 2 in the Friends Schools League tournament. They host Shipley School on Tuesday.

Under Consideration – Eastern (13-1), Germantown Academy (12-8) Henderson (14-3), Manheim Township (15-4), Merion Mercy (14-3), Mount St. Joseph (14-3), Notre Dame (10-7)
