Saturday’s boys’ roundup: Moorestown edges Lawrenceville; Penn Charter wins

Drew Hillman collected four goals and three assists and Dan Willis made 17 saves as host Moorestown edged Lawrenceville School, 9-8, today in non-league boys’ lacrosse.

The Quakers (13-1) also got two goals each from Michael Handlen and Robert Kuhn while Matt Olbrich won 11 of 18 face-offs.

P.J. Finley and Johnny Salemi collected two goals and two assists apiece for Lawrenceville (11-6) while Griffin Thompson made 15 saves.

Penn Charter 11, Downingtown West 9

Ray Vandegrift scored four goals and James Vandegift added three as the Quakers (12-12) earned the non-league win.

Holy Ghost Prep 10, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 7

Bennett Zaba had five goals and two assists and Ryan Kovacevich scored five goals while Greg Price made 10 saves for the Firebirds in the non-league win.

Tasso Karras scored three goals and Forrest Rall had a pair for SCHA.

Sun Valley 17, Upper Darby 7

Matt Cieota collected four goals and two assists and Conor Johnson scored four goals for the Vanguards.

Chris Stone had two goals and an assist and Ryan Soley made 20 saves for Upper Darby.
