Malvern Prep junior defenseman D. Ryder Harkins has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Loyola University.

What will you major in/study? Engineering or Business

Why did you choose Loyola? “Loyola is the perfect fit for me. It has everything I am looking for in a school – size, academics, and location. The impression Coach (Charley) Toomey, Coach (Matt) Dwan, and Coach (Dave) Metzbower gave me about their philosophies and the team’s atmosphere made me want to be a part of Loyola’s lacrosse program.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? ” To finish off strong with wins against Haverford and GA. Then make a strong push for the Inter-Ac Invitational Title.”

Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my parents, who have always given me the utmost support. I would also like to thank my first lacrosse coach Mfon Udo, for inspiring my love for lacrosse. I would like to thank my current and past high school coaches – Coach McEvoy, Coach MacFarlane and Coach Metzbower. Lastly, a thanks to my club coaches – Coach Jim Schorn (Man Up), Coach Ebe Helm and Jason Christmas (Duke’s L.C.).”
