Boys’ lacrosse: Abington clinches Suburban One National Conference title

Hunter Jones has five goals and an assist and Will Dulin added four goals and three assists as host Abington clinched the Suburban One National Conference boys’ lacrosse championship Tuesday with a 17-4 rout of Council Rock North.

The title is the sixth in seven years for the Ghosts, who improved to 9-0 in the league and 13-3 overall. They can finish the league undefeated with a win Thursday over visiting Council Rock North.

Brian Gallagher added three goals and two assists for Abington while Joey Lomady had a goal, an assist and 12 groundballs while winning 9 of 10 face-offs. Austin Pifani led the Ghosts’ defense with nine groundballs while also winning four of five face-offs and scoring once while assisting on another goal.

Gus Greenberg also had a goal and an assist and Joe Bisaquino and Christian Wermer each scored once while Cameron Leech had two assists and John O’Riordan one.
