Tuesday’s boys’ HS highlights: Conestoga, Radnor remain tied for 1st in Central League

Robbie Zonino made 12 saves, Alex Mezey scored twice and Christian Jobs won 14 of 15 face-offs as visiting Conestoga held off Ridley, 6-5, Tuesday in a key Central League boys’ lacrosse game.

Matt Schleicher added a goal and three assists for the Pioneers (8-7, 8-1), who remained tied with Radnor atop the league standings. The Green Raiders (10-4, 6-3) dropped two games off the lead.

Matt Borchert led the Green Raiders (10-4, 6-3) with two goals and an assist and Dalton George scored twice as Ridley nearly rallied from a 6-2 deficit.

Radnor 11, Springfield-Delco 7

Mike Cherry scored three goals and Connor Burns had goals and two assists, while Jake Shapiro won 16 of 19 face-offs to help the Red Raiders stay in pace with Conestoga atop the Central League.

Lucas Spence paced the Cougars (9-5, 6-3) with three goals and an assist.

Penncrest 10, Strath Haven 8

Sean Mingey scored the game-winner while Drew Hanna had three goals and three assists and Zach Kruzel scored three goals for the Lions in their come-from-behind win.

Teddy Bergman had 21 saves for the Panthers.

Episcopal Academy 11, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 4

Freshman Peter Gayhardt scored four goals and Trupert Ortlieb tallied three as the Churchmen (13-3, 7-0) won their 12th straight triumph and remained perfect in the Inter-Ac.

Freshman Christian Feliziani also excelled at the face-off X, winning 13-of-19 draws.

Forrest Rall scored twice for SCHA.

Malvern Prep 11, Penn Charter 4

Ryan Hillburn and Tommy O’Connor each scored three goals for the Friars, who remain one game behind EA in the Inter-Ac race.

Malvern Prep hosts Episcopal Academy Friday at 6 p.m.

Nick Bambino had a goal and an assist for Penn Charter.

Haverford School 17, Germantown Academy 7

Gavin McBride had four goals and an assist and Kerry Kynett added two goals and three assists while Drew Supinski contributed three goals and one assist to pace the Fords.

Derham had three goals for Germantown Academy.

Great Valley 16, Henderson 12

Noah Joseph scored five goals and Timmy Lamb added four as the Patriots (10-3, 5-2) stayed one loss behind frist-place Bishop Shanahan in the Ches-Mont race.

Spencer Rymiszewski led the Warriors (9-5, 4-3) with four goals and two assists

Avon Grove 5, Downingtown West 4

Tanner Peck (two goals) had the game-winner in the final five minutes and Matt King also scored twice while Matt Schreiner made 11 saves to lead the Devils to the Ches-Mont win.

Teddy Varano had three goals for the Whippets.

Perkiomen Valley 15, Boyertown 8

Sean Tornetta scored six goals, Zach Lynn had three goals and two assists and Shawn Dickey had 13 groundballs as well as a goal and an assist to lead the Vikings to the PAC-10 win.

Tyler Fuhrman had two goals and an assist for the Bears.

Central Bucks West 7, Pennridge 5

Jimmy Seykot had two goals and two assists and Ryan Green scored twice for the Bucks.

Allentown Central Catholic 9, Emmaus 7

Jack Glemser had five goals and two assists and Grif O’Donnell posted 14 saves to lead ACC.

Nick Tonno scored three goals for Emmaus.

Hatboro-Horsham 10, Central Bucks South 3

Jimmy Murphy had three goals and two assists and Marc Poust made 15 saves as the Hatters stayed perfect in the Suburban One Continental.

St Joseph’s Prep 15, Cardinal O’Hara 3

Jack Adons scored five goals and Jace Liszka won 12 of 15 face-offs to lead the Hawks, who remain undefeated and tied with La Salle in the Catholic League lead. The two teams play Friday night at St. Joseph’s University at 7:30 p.m.

Tim Coyle had 22 saves for O’Hara.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 14, Upper Merion 13

Alex Bilodeau scored with 6:54 left in the fourth period to win it and finished with four goals and an assist for the Colonials. Corey Kelly also had four goals and an assist and Jake Boyer posted 13 saves.

Trevor Kupecky collected seven goals and three assists for the Vikings.
