Boys’ lacrosse: Hatboro-Horsham topples Central Bucks East, 8-5, in Suburban One showdown

Zach Erwine had three goals and Jimmy Murphy and Ryan Higgins each had two goals and an assist to lead host Hatboro-Horsham to a key 8-5 Suburban One Continental Conference victory over Central Bucks East Thursday.

The win vaulted the Hatters (7-2) into sole possession of first place in the conference at 6-0, while East fell to 5-1 (9-2 overall).

The Hatters, who led 4-3 at half time and 6-5 after three periods, received outstanding goaltending from Marc Poust (15 saves) and solid defense from Jake Cresta, TJ Keleher, Keith Cameron, and Matt McPoyle.

Hatboro-Horsham has won six straight games.

Anthony Casselli had two goals and an assist and Zach Kane added two goals while Sean McGovern posted 14 saves for the Patriots.
