The Brown men’s lacrosse team rolled to its fifth straight win today as freshman Henry Blynn (Haverford School) had a career high five goals, earning a 21-8 win over High Point at rainy Vert Stadium Sunday afternoon. The victory gives the Bears a 5-1 overall record and some momentum heading into Wednesday’s game against North Carolina. High Point falls to 2-7 with the loss.
Junior goalie Wills Curley (Malvern Prep) played the final 8:01 of the game without allowing a goal.

Notre Dame 7, Rutgers 6

Liam O’Connor (Haverford School) won 11 of 17 face-offs, defenseman Stephen O’Hara (St. Joeph’s prep) had two GBs and two CTs and long pole Tyler Andersen (Radnor) had three GBs for the No. 3 Irish in the Big East opening-day win.

Rich Rambo (Abington) had an assist and two GBs for Rutgers.

Saturday
Bryant 10, Stony Brook 9

Shane Morrell (Episcopal Academy) had three goals and three assists and Kevin Rudd (Conestoga) scored once while Mason Poli (Downingtown East) had two groundballs to help the Bulldogs win their first game of the year.

UNC 10, Maryland 8

Joey Sankey (Penn Charter) had four goals while Ryan Creighton (Malvern Prep) and Ryan Kilpatrick (Salesianum School) each had a GB and a CT for UNC as the No. 1 Terps lost for the first time.

Niko Amato (La Salle) made 11 saves and Owen Blye (Downingtown East) had two goals and an assist while Goran Murray (Haverford School) had 2 GBs and Casey Ikeda (Conestoga) a CT for Maryland.

Duke 19, Georgetown 7

Jordan Wolf (Lower Merion) had four goals, Billy Conners (Malvern Prep) had four GBs to lead the Blue devils. Tanner Scott (Conestoga) added a goal and an assist, Henry Lobb (Malvern Prep) had a GB and a CT and Brian Dailey (Conestoga) had a GB.

Tyler Knarr (La Salle) won 7 of 16 face-offs and had five GBs.

Bucknell 18, Albany 12

Jackson Place (Episcopal Academy) had six GBs as the Bison won their seventh in a row.

Binghamton 11, Quinnipiac 9

Freshman Billy Oppenheimer (Germantown Academy) notched two goals and two assists for Quinnipiac.

Harvard 9, Dartmouth 6

Peter Schwartz (La Salle) had two goals and an assist for Harvard in the Ivy League win.

Ohio State 9, Bellarmine 7

Michael Bender (Emmaus) had two CTs and a GB for Bellarmine.

Johns Hopkins 15, UVA 8

Drew Kennedy (Malvern Prep) won 9 of 20 face-offs and scored a goal and Tucker Durkin (La Salle) had a GB and a CT for the Blue Jays.

Bobby Hill (Malvern Prep) had two GBs and a CT for UVA.

UMass 13, Hartford 10

Andrew Cacchio (Holy Ghost prep) scored once, Tate Klidonas (Emmaus) had four GBs and a CT and won 5 of 8 face-offs and Adam Yee (Penncrest) won 7 of 17 face-offs for Hartford.

Marist 13, Canisius 5

Colin Joka (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored once for Marist.

Fairfield 13, Hobart 10

Eric Warden (Garnet Valley) scored once for Fairfield.

Jacksonville 10, Manhattan 7

Jimmy Trentini (Upper Dublin) had a goal and four GBs for Jacksonville.

Colgate 10, Navy 3

T.J. Hanzsche (Malvern Prep) scored once for Navy in the Patriot League loss.

UMBC 10, Mount St. Mary’s 8

Daniel Stranix (Ridley) scored once for the Mount.
