Haverford School made a late but spirited comeback from a huge deficit today before bowing to host Gilman School (MD), 17-13, in non-league boys’ lacrosse.
The Fords (0-2) fell behind, 6-1, after one period and 13-4 at the half. They pulled within 15-10 after three periods and allowed the first two goals of the fourth quarter before scoring the final three goals.
Reilly Hupfeldt led Haverford School with four goals while Gavin McBride had three goals and two assists. Brendan O’Neill had two goals and an assist.

The Quakers fell to 0-3 with the loss to another MIAA squad despite two goals by Kevin Murphy.
Brandon White, Ray Vandegrift, Nick Bambino and Dean Roseman all scored once for Penn Charter and Drew Murray and James Vandegrift each had assists. Freshman goalie Sean McKee played well in goal.
