Tyler White (Penn Charter) scored with 4:38 to play, lifting No. 3 Dickinson to a thrilling 8-7 victory Saturday over Widener in men’s lacrosse.
Brian Cannon led Dickinson (6-0) with three goals and three assists and Colin Farrell (Malvern Prep) had a key game-tying goal just 18 seconds before White’s game-winner. Matt Cherry (Radnor) also scored for the Devils.
Johnny Casey (Abington) had two goals and an assist and Ryan Eidenshink (La Salle) scored a pair for Widener (2-2). Robert Clemens (Sun Valley) added a goal and three assists and Mac Nestler made 16 saves in goal.
Eastern 14, Wesley 2
One day after seeing its home winning streak snapped in a tough overtime game against Gettysburg College, the Eagles bounced back with a convincing home win over Wesley.
Forty-one Eastern players contributed as the Eagles (5-1) wore down the visiting Wolverines (3-3) in a game that saw rain, snow, and in stretches, penalty flags falling from the sky.
Grant Ferguson led Eastern with five goals and two assists and Chris Farrar had three goals and three assists.
Albright 15, Gwynedd Mercy 6
Juniors Philip Potter and Ryan Turner each had a hat trick and added three assists as well for Albright. Classmate Dan Foote also recorded a hat trick on the day.
The Lions picked up 44 ground balls, including eight by Turner and six by midfielder TJ Holston. Joe Devinney (Springfield-Delco) picked up five ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Gwynedd-Mercy senior goalie Rylee O’Keefe was everywhere for the Griffins, stopping 19 shots. William Beck (Archbishop Ryan) had two goals and an assist for Gwynedd (1-3).
Kenyon 11, Mt. Union 2
Kenyon freshman Jared Jacobs (Conestoga) won 14 of 16 face-offs and had 10 ground balls. Fellow Kenyon freshman Brian Andrews (Roman Catholic) had 3 ground balls.
