Men’s lacrosse: Senior FO-MF Hermes (Pennsbury) named captain for Maine Maritime

Maine Maritime Academy senior face-off/midfielder Alex Hermes has been named a co-captain for the Mariners, who open their season today at UMass-Boston.

Hermes was a key contributor last year for Maine Maritime when he scored 14 goals and added four assists while winning 89 of 167 face-offs (52 percent) and scooping 82 groundballs. He added 11 caused turnovers.

The Mariners went 5-3 in the North Atlantic Conference and 6-9 overall last season.

Hermes majors in Marine Transporttion Operations.
