Goalie Niko Amato (La Salle) had 13 saves and Goran Murray (Haverford School) collected two groundballs and two caused turnovers to lead the Maryland men’s lacrosse team to a 12-10 victory over host Loyola Saturday in a rematch of the 2012 national championship game.

The Terps (3-0) avenged a defeat to the Greyhounds in last year’s finals and also figure to take over the top spot in all national polls. Defenseman Casey Ikeda (Conestoga) added a groundball and a caused turnover and Owen Blye (Downingtown East) had an assist for Maryland.

Chris Layne (Malvern Prep) led Loyola with two goals and an assist and Nikko Pontrello (St. Augustine Prep) scored once.

Johns Hopkins 17, Michigan 8

Defenseman Tucker Durkin (La Salle) had two groundballs and Drew Kennedy (Malvern Prep) won 5 of 7 face-offs for the Blue Jays.

Dan Kinek (Emmaus) had a goal and three groundballs for Michigan.

North Carolina 10, Fairfield 9

Joey Sankey (Penn Charter) had two goals and two groundballs, Andrew O’Connell (Malvern Prep) made three saves in the second half to gain the win and Ryan Kilpatrick (Salesianum School) scooped five groundballs to lead the Tar Heels.

St. John’s 10, Yale 9

Colin Keegan (Springfield-Delco) had three goals, Mark DiFrangia (La Salle) had three groundballs and a caused turnover, Joe Addona (Springfield-Delco) had two groundballs and a caused turnover and Connor Mullen (Downingtown West) scored once and scooped a groundball as St. John’s improved to 2-0.

Robert Morris 9, Detroit 5

Eric Rankel (Downingtown West) collected a goal, two assists, six groundballs, three caused turnovers and won 3 of 5 face-offs, Dave Morton (Hill School) scored twice, Tyler Rankel (Downingtown West) had a goal, five groundballs and three caused turnovers while defenseman Joe Scenna (Perkiomen Valley) had two caused turnovers and one groundball to pace Robert Morris.

Air Force 10, Canisius 8

Keith Dreyer (Malvern Prep) had three goals and three groundballs for Air Force (3-1).

Bellarmine 12, High Point 5

Defenseman Michael Bender (Emmaus) had four caused turnovers and three groundballs for Bellarmine (3-0).

Quinnipiac 9, Brown 7

Freshman Henry Blynn (Haverford School) had two goals and an assist and two groundballs and Wills Curley (Malvern Prep) made four saves in one half of play in goal.

Bucknell 10, Bryant 8

Jackson Place (Episcopal Academy) had six caused turnovers and a groundball to lead the Bison defense and overcome a strong effort by Bryant long pole Mason Poli (Downingtown East), who had two goals, an assist, four groundballs and a caused turnover.

Connor Dent (St. Joseph’s Prep) added two caused turnovers for Bryant on defense.

Colgate 13, Dartmouth 10

Patrick Resch (La Salle) had a goal and a groundball for Dartmouth.

Holy Cross 11, Hartford 9

Andrew Cacchio (Holy Ghost Prep) had two goals for Hartford.
