Longstreth girls’ recruit: Penn Charter sophomore MF-ATT Shoemaker commits to Virginia

Penn Charter sophomore midfield-attack Avery Shoemaker has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Virginia.

Why did you choose school: “After spending time at camp and visiting the school I knew it was a perfect fit for me. Virginia has an amazing lacrosse program and coaching staff. The school combines great academics with a beautiful campus. I can’t be more happy with my decision.”

Outlook for your high school team: “I am very excited for the upcoming season. We have a strong senior class and great group of coaches who will have us well prepared. I expect us to be very competitive in the Inter-Ac this season.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank my Penn Charter coaches Tori Small and especially Channing Weymouth, I could not ask for a better coach or mentor. Also Debra White for teaching me the fundamentals of the game in middle school.

“I would also like to thank my Ultimate Goal club coaches, Chelsea and Lindsay and most importantly Michele DeJuliis for all her help and advice.
