Free PLA coaching workshop, hosted by Brendan Dawson, head men’s lacrosse coach at Widener University, for area boys’ high school and youth coaches on Saturday, January 26 in conjunction with the Philadelphia Lacrosse Association. Workshop Format:
•Each participant will receive a copy of the day’s practice plan; •Coaches will be present on the sidelines to see and hear Coach Dawson and his staff run the Pride through a “live” practice; •The practice will be filmed; •Participate in a film breakdown immediately following the practice.
Interested coaches are requested to register in advance by clicking here. Sign-in will start at 11:15 am in the Schwartz Center, then we will proceed to the practice field at 11:45 prompt. Practice is rain or shine, so dress accordingly.
High School Lacrosse Prospect Clinic, hosted by the Delaware Men’s Lacrosse Staff composed of head coach Bob Shillinglaw and assistants Greg Carroll, Rob Cross and Peet Poillon, Sunday January 27th for all High School players interested in playing at the college level. This clinic will be a great opportunity to get coached by the Delaware Men’s Lacrosse staff. The staff will provide information on the NCAA recruiting process. All participants are invited to the UD vs Colgate Scrimmage Saturday January 26, 12:00 in Delaware Stadium.

Shipley’s Little Gators Boys and Girls Lacrosse Clinics. The Boys’ Clinic feature instructor Kevin Crowley, NCAA All-American, member of Team Canada, MLL and NLL Rookie of the Year for the Philadelphia Wings. Coach Crowley is the offensive co-ordintor at The Shipley School. The clinics are for boys’ and girls in grades Pre-K through 3 (approx age 4-8). All equipment will be provided by Shipley. The fourth annual Battle of Fort Washington Lacrosse Tournament, hosted by The Upper Dublin Boys Crooked Crosse Lacrosse Club, Saturday, March 9 & Sunday March 10, 2013 at the SPARK all weather fields in Upper Dublin, PA. The tournament will consist of four boys divisions, A1 & A2 (7/8th grade) and B1 & B2 5/6th grade teams. Each team is guaranteed a Minimum 2 game, 25 Minute Running Halves. The A Divisions will be played Saturday, March 9th with B Division playing on Sunday, March 10. This tournament is geared toward township recreation level teams looking to get a start on their season. Villanova 150: The Villanova 150 will bring together some of the most talented rising sophomores and juniors in the country to compete in a three-day showcase. Open to all prospects in the 2015 & 2016 classes, this three-day, two-night event will feature a practice run by college coaches, a recruiting seminar presented by the Villanova Men’s Lacrosse coaching staff, as well as 5 one-hour games for players to showcase their talents.

Inaugural Philly Lax Cup, hosted by the Cavalier Lacrosse School, on Father’s Day Weekend at Cabrini College. Participating in the event will be 12 of the premier club teams and 12 of the premier high school teams from the Philadelphia area. The tournament will guarantee each team three games over the weekend, with a total of five possible. The games will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday evening, June 14. Each club team will be playing one game on this day. On Saturday, the club teams will play two games each. At the conclusion of these games, the top four teams will play in the semi-finals followed by the championship on the stadium field. This game will determine who will be crowned as the “Philly Lax Cup” Champion. Starting Saturday night, the high school tournament will begin. Again each team will play three games over the weekend, with a total of five possible. The games will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening. Each team will play one game Saturday night. On Sunday, the teams will play a guaranteed two games. At the conclusion of these games, the top four teams will play in the semi-finals followed by the championship on the stadium field. Black Bear Lacrosse camps, for boys aged 5 to 15, Black Bear’s dedicated staff of seasoned coaches take a personal interest in advancing the fastest game on two feet. In addition to its fundamentals program, which is designed to introduce the game to beginning and intermediate players, Black Bear camps provide advanced technique and training for experienced players. Black Bear campers enjoy daily scrimmages, position specific instruction, contests, and daily personal interaction with top teaching coaches. Villanova Overnight Instructional Camp, July 9-12, 2013, The overnight instructional camp is designed for athletes aged 11-to-17 that are interested in improving their basic skills and learning the techniques of lacrosse. The camp will be divided into a two junior divisions (11- and 12-year olds and 13- and 14- year-olds) and a senior division (15-to-17).
The entire Villanova University Men’s Lacrosse staff as well as local high school coaches and many of the best current college players will be coaching. The highly skilled and beginners will benefit from the college and high school coaches who teach at the camp.
The first session begins Tuesday afternoon, July 9. The first meal provided will be dinner on Tuesday evening. There will be two sessions on Tuesday, three sessions on Wednesday and Thursday and a morning session on Friday, July 12th. Campers will be housed in air-conditioned Villanova dormitories and meals will be provided in campus dining facilities. This camp was developed to help all levels, beginners through advanced players, improve their skill set with exceptional college level instruction in all aspects of the game. The LEHIGH MEN’S LACROSSE STAFF as well as LEHIGH VARSITY PLAYERS, along with other college coaches and college players will be here to pass on their energy and knowledge on to you! At the end of the week we will see just how far we have come in our Mountain Hawks Skill Competition! EXTENDED DAY (Option): Extra skill work with the staff is available for first three days.
