From Press Release
The Philadelphia Wings earned a pivotal 12-10 road win tonight against the Toronto Rock at Air Canada Centre, taking over sole possession of the National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) East Division lead and clinching the tie-breaker over Toronto should the teams finish with the same record at the season’s end.
Both teams entered the game with a 4-4 record atop the East Division. The Wings earned their second victory at Toronto this season after the defending NLL Champions only dropped one home game last season.
Leading the way for the Wings were goalie Brandon Miller (40 saves) who limited the Rock to just 10 goals, the second time he has held the Rock 10 or fewer goals in less than a month. He also led the Wings to a 14-8 victory in mid-February.
Assistant Captain Dan Dawson added three goals and three assists for the Wings while Drewe Westervelt scored three. Mike Hominuck helped hold the momentum in the second half with two pivotal goals and added two assists and Kevin Crowley added a goal and an assist.
The Wings will return home to Wells Fargo Center to play the Edmonton Rush on Saturday, March 17 at 7 p.m.
