The Catholic League and Inter-Ac Invitational semifinals are tonight whole the District 1 tournament heads into its semifinal round Tuesday.

Yes, the heat of the playoffs has arrived.

The surprise team of the post-season has been Great Valley, which had reached the District 1 semis as the 20th seed.
This week’s rankings:

1, Haverford School (20-1) – The Fords, looking for their fourth straight Inter-Ac Invitational championship, meet arch-rival Malvern Prep tonight at 5 p.m. at Cabrini in the semis. Prev: No. 1

2, Conestoga (17-3) – The Pioneers will face Cinderella Great Valley in the District 1 semifinals on Tuesday at Radnor at 6 p.m. Prev: No. 2

3, La Salle (14-4) – The Explorers face Archbishop Wood tonight in the Catholic League semifinals at Plymouth Whitemarsh at 4 p.m. Prev: No. 3

4. Downingtown West (20-0) – The Whippets face Garnet Valley in the District 1 semifinals Tuesday at Radnor at 8 p.m. Prev: No. 4

5, Episcopal Academy (16-5) – The Churchmen face Lawrenceville School in the Inter-Ac Invitational semifinals tonight at 7 p.m. at Cabrini. Prev: No. 5

6, Lawrenceville School (17-3) – The Big Red face Episcopal Academy tonight in the Inter-Ac Invitational semifinals at 7 p.m. Prev: No. 6

7, Garnet Valley (16-5) – The Jaguars meet Downingtown West in the District 1 semifinals Tuesday at Radnor at 6 p.m.. Prev: No. 9

8, Malvern Prep (8-9) –The Friars have the opportunity they have been waiting for the past year – another shot at rival Haverford School in the Inter-Ac Invitational. The semifinal game is tonight at 5 p.m. at Cabrini. Prev: NR

9, Great Valley (14-7) – The Patriots are the story of the post-season after reaching the District 1 semifinals as the 20th seed. They meet top-seeded Conestoga in the semifinals Tuesday at Radnor at 6 p.m. Prev: NR

10. Abington (15-6) – The Ghosts are in a four-way battle for the fifth and final District 1 berth in the PIAA tourney. They have a playback game Tuesday vs. Central Bucks East. Prev: NR
