Philly grads excel around the country in D1 women’s lacrosse: Maher (CR North), Maher (Pennridge) key American victory

Bernadette Maher (Council Rock North) had three goals and Emily Maher (Pennridge) scored twice to lead American (3-1) to a 16-10 victory Saturday over visiting Old Dominion in non-league women’s lacrosse.

Emily Austerberry (Boyertown) scored twice for ODU (1-) and Rebecca Hartrum (Springfield-Delco) added one.

Syracuse 12, Florida 11, OT

Michelle Tumolo (Clearview Regional, NJ) had a goal and two assists and Amy Cross (Upper Dublin) scored once for the Orange in the key victory over No. 4 Florida.

Manhattan 14, Long Island U 13

Ashley Delaney (Pottsgrove) had three goals and an assist for LIU.

Towson 7, Loyola 6

Kelly Custer (Sun Valley) scored once for Towson in its victory.

Boston University 16, George Mason 8

Emily Ellisen (Great valley) scored three goals for George Mason in defeat.
