Many sport teams feel like an army going out to battle on the field. There is a deeper meaning to this thought for the MESA Fresh 2014 Lacrosse Team.

4th Infantry emblem being worn on Mesa Fresh 2014 helmets in honor of Sgt. Brandon Mader

There is a special relationship between Mesa Fresh 2014 Lacrosse and the Army’s 4th Infantry Division in Afghanistan, through a direct connection with Connor Black and his brother, Infantry Sgt. Brandon Mader.

Through this relationship, the Mesa Fresh 2014 players are learning about the real struggles in war and now support the Infantry unit with videos, much needed comfort items, letters/postcards and even Mesa Fresh 2014 jerseys to be worn by the troops during time off.

To honor the men serving in Afghanistan, Mesa players are wearing a special emblem on their helmets.
